Rubbing noise from rear
Discussion
My 2001 SP6 has started producing a rubbing noise from the rear.
Increases in frequency as I go faster. Can't really locate if it's from the offside or nearside. Stops when I brake, even gently. No (very) fast driving in the past few days. No heavy braking. The noise started
this morning. Nothing obvious like a stick stuck
somewhere.
Any ideas what it could be?
A warped brake disc occurred to me but surely this
is unlikely at the rear?
Any ideas gratefully received.

I had this - rear brake pads needed to be taken out and filed down - they were uneven and catching on the disc, hence the ssshtt ssshhttt ssshhtt sound you probably get. I also leave the hanbrake off nearly all the time as this was causing the calipers to occasionally seize .....try it - if it doesn't work then err its something else !!!!

Thanks for this - sounds quite likely.
Did you take the pads off yourself? I've done pad
changes on other cars but I don't know if I dare
on the Cerbera!
It's absolutely dead easy to take the rear pads off - just pull the lock pins out (carefully retaining the spring that will jump out), and just lift out! My rear pads did this too. About a million times easier than on a Chimaera when you don't have the special tool!

But the handbrake on the Cerbera doesn't operate the calliper at all - it's got a little drum brake inside the hub. I think they just like seizing if they've been left a couple of week, especially if they were wet, but it's never caused me any long term trouble.
