I have a T reg Cerbera with the Tuscan S Speed 6 engine.
I could really do with a better number plate than the current random collection of numbers and letters.
Anyone got anything suitable or know a good place to look?

Try DVLA and see if B16 POP is still available - it seems appropriate to an S6 engine !!!

The DVLA usually have a reasonable selection of reg's!
Although, the best place to look is in Top Gear Magazine! Huge number of sites!
Happy hunting!
Let us know what you decide on!

Why don't you just use the 'registrations' in the classified section on Pistonheads...good for dreaming in my case..

I have used Newreg www.newreg.com/ in the past. They were quick and competent and the prices are reasonable. They have SAT4N available, but it's POA ! What about B16 8ANG
Perhaps the ultimate TVR plate: TVR 1 (£40k) and you could have 2 TVR, TVR 3 and TVR 4 for the wife and kids...

One tip with NewReg though...

If you find a plate you like, quickly pop over to the DVLA website and check if it is a previously unregistered plate. If it is you can save a packet.

eg. NewReg price advertised as £244, but breaks down as
"£244.00 plus £42.70 (VAT) = £286.70 plus transfer fee £80.00
Total Price Payable = £366.70 (Includes on-line discount)"

DVLA price - £250 including VAT and transfer fee.

However, I will say that NewReg have an excellent search engine and is well worth looking at.

Probably not worth the trouble. Keep the cash for a fascinating trip into the unknown. I believe the donkey rides round the engine monument in Blackpool start soon for the season.

That's enough RUF-we know Speed sixes haven't been very reliable to date without you bringing it up in every thread.

Hear Hear Jon

Sad that some people choose reliability over ultimate perfomance aint it. Whats an engine re-build or two when your having this much fun when its right

(not that mine is right at the mo,)

As for reg numbers, www.dvla-som.co.uk is definately the cheapest if you are creative! £250.00 scored me a nice little TVR plate for my baby (I'm tight see!) but a word of warning. Most garages will not alter the spacing of number plates in any way...make sure you sort this before you buy

By the way, RUF, talking about donkeys is a bit rich. From what I've heard Griffs handle worse than Dobbin the three legged "wonder" donkey on Blackpool Pier. And as for power, after driving a Cerby, Griff power is in the "where's the f***in engine gone" league

(dusting hands off) that should do it!

I must say my local TVR garage leant me a Griff 500 for a couple of weeks while my Cerbie was having the Tuscan S upgrade. I found it a hugely dissapointing drive which made the return of my Cerbie and awsome experience.
They also uprated the brakes to the 4.5 Spec, the new Tuscan 18" Wheels. The LW 4.5 Zircon headlights and dealer fitted Afterburners.
It does a limited amount of milage albeit very quickly
and so far I have had very little problems (FX)
In summation NO CONTEST

Read it and weep RUF!

Hunty, how much did all the work cost you if you don't mind me asking just out of interest, it does'nt sound like you are on a tight budget (like me!). Who did the work/did they do a good job?

Now Hazey, I have to defend the griff / chim having had griff 500,Chim 500 cerb sp6 and cerb 4.5 in the last 4 years I have to disagree completely (griff 500 at same time as sp6) (and chim 500 at same time as 4.5) imho this is how they all ranked only my opinion:

Cerb 4.5 (blows away everything)except our F40 and its pretty close
Griff 500
Chim 500
Sp 6 (when it worked)

Being a car mad family we have all the gps testing equipment (yes yes I know anorak but its amasing how many people want to borrow it) for performance so we have tested them at 0-60 / 0-100 etc and thats how it was !!!
