Specialist servicing in Lond/Beds

Can anyone recommend a non-dealer specialist for servicing my 97 4.2 Cerbera, preferably in London or Bedfordshire? Every time it goes to a dealer (for £££s an hour) it seems to need yet another little job which ends up costing a fortune, and comes back worse than it went. No longer worried about FTVRSH or warranty - just want it in peak condition for sensible money!

Try Team Proactive in Birmingham - If you're in Beds its about 90 miles and worth the trip - they seem to be very good at Cerbera's and if you ask nicely you might get a free loan car. I know quite a few people who go there and I've been using them for years - I'm in Herts

What do people think is a reasonable labour rate for this kind of work? I've just been charged £48.50 per hour before VAT (for work on a Chimaera) ...
