Fading Paintwork on Pearl Rosso 99 Cerbie

I am looking at buying a V Reg (Sep 99) Cerbie S6 in Pearl Rosso, however the top side of the car looks patchy/faded. Is it my eyes or the light or is it a colour prone to fading?
Does anyone know if this is covered by TVR warranty?

Very much so. I wanted my Chimaera in that colour, but Team Central refused to supply it (1996). They were having so much grief with warranty work trying to match colours as it fades so quickly that they decided not to supply any more cars in that colour.

The original Rosso Red (2815)was very prone to fading and lasted about two to three years - this was replaced by Rosso Red II (2815/2) which has tinters in it and lasts much longer - about five years and is slightly darker than the original but still a fantastic colour. If you are going to get it resprayed then make sure they use 2815/2.
By the way can recommend a good paint chap who will do a lovely job as my Rosso Red cerbera 4.5 will testify!!

Anyone got an idea how much a respray would cost, and I assume the warranty on paintwork only lasts 1 year?

Not sure if rosso paint for chimp is same as cerb. Had a 97R rosso pearl chimp until Aug 01, and there was absolutely no indications of fade on body. Have now got a Cerb 6 in rosso pearl as I think the colour is awesome. Note that all red cars are subject to paint fade over time, though probably longer than 2/3 years. I have seen faded red Mercs, Fords, Vauxhalls, Beamers and even Porkers.

I have a late '97 Cerbera in Rosso Pearl. The paint is as bright as the day I bought it new.

faded like mad, respray is new rosso pearl, looks slightly darker.
