Well it had to happen sooner or later. At certain times of the day there are swarms of these crap sounding little bikes cutting up everyone in their path. Bedford certainly seems to have its fair share of these little bastards.

When I am pootling through town in the Cerb (normally warming it up slowly) often a pack of these little twats seem to try and follow me. Well it happened today - one of the little oiks drove into the back of my Cerb resulting in a large flake/chip off the rear bumper. It is quite substantial and has made the Cerb look pretty tatty (or am I just being a bit of a perfectionist?). I don't think I can tell you on this forum the words I used to repremand the ringpiece in question.

What are the limitations to the magic Chipsaway can perform? Does their web-site ever work? I spoke to a guy at one of the franchises in Peterborough who just answered every question with "I'd need to see it".

The stone chips were mounting and I was thinking of getting them all sorted sooner or later - guess it will just be sooner.

Am I the only guy who gets really upset by these little winnits endangering everyone? Do they think that the rules do not apply to them? Why do none of them have plates on and why does no-one do anything about them? Perhaps the coppers think that the best way to deal with it is to let them kill themselves!

There is this one guy who whenever he sees me out in the TVR decides to pull a wheely! Last week he did it and was coming the other way and accidentally sort of drifted over in front of me - I had to swerve violently to avoid hitting him. Perhaps if the situation were to arise again I may not swerve!

Anyway, sorry for that. I feel beter now it's off my chest. It's situations like this (pot-holes, vandals, frshly painted double yellows (illegally) outside my house) that really upset me as I have no control over any of them - oh, sorry, I get to put an X in a box every now and then!!!

Perhaps I should switch careers and become a copper!

Sorry to hear that Tony.

My wife works at a Vauxhall dealership and they use
Chipsaway so I guess they must be pretty good.

Apart from the Vauxhalls, they sold me my old Camaro
and they also do the 'Vettes, so like I say, I guess
Chipsaway must be pretty good.

Good luck.

Thanks Graham,

Although for such a minor problem it does seem to have upset me looking back at my words! Acouple of beers later and things seem a lot better.

I have since spoken to a couple of other people who have recommended Chipsaway.

Bad luck mate. Hope the damage isn't too bad and is easily sorted.
Catch up for a or 2 in the not too distant.

Sorry to here about the damage mate, Maybe we could organize a "little bastard", "Oic", "Twat" shoot in the near future. All in the name of Sport.

There's a chipsaway guy living next door to me. He's always busy so I assume he does a decent job!!!

Thanks for that guys,

Perhaps my little outburst earlier was a litle excessive but sometimes these things have to be said!

I have found out today that there is a chipsaway guy living two roads down from me and he is coming out to check things out for me tomorrow and he reckons he may be able to 'revive' my drivers seat which is looking a little sorry for itself.

Yes, Si, for sure. I am not sure if I mentioned but I am having a BBQ (as soon as I get my act together) - hoping to see R&J and BB there too.

I have used chips away about 4 years ago on my old 944, they can not perform miracles and the car will look better for a few months but the effect does were off after a couple of months. It is best used to prep your car just before it is sold. Other wise I would wait until the stone chips are really bad and have a front end respray. Also I have built bad chips before with several coats of paint over a few weeks with good results, you could try this on your rear bump. I rubbed down the paint after each layer with a small self adhesive wet and dry pad on the end of cork which I got from my paint shop.
