Not a good weekend for my cerbera with the tick-over problems (as posted on another thread) and the fact that I kerbed one of my wheels whilst reversing - doh! - and tore a 4 inch scratch on the wheel.

I recall a thread mentioning a mobile wheel refurb company but couldn't find this by searching in the forums.

Has anyone used such a service? Has it been on Spiders particularly - given the sort of glittery finish to the alloy (or coating). Any other recommendations for somewhere close to London.

I don't have a spare wheel, so taking a wheel off and having it sent away for refurb is not an option, which is why I like the sound of the mobile service.

Thanks in adavnce of your replies.

Try giving Castle TVR a call because i was there in my 4.5 and noticed the said mobile wheel refurber dropping off some spiders he had repaired, he had a large van with the gear in the back and Ian told me the guy was really good

Cheers gadget9. I have since found out about these guys www.wickedwheels.co.uk/ and guess this is who you saw.

They charge around £40 + VAT per wheel, and apparently do a great job. I'm just waiting for their guy to call me back to make a booking.

Edited to say that having called Wicked Wheels, their price is as follows:

* £45 + VAT if you live close to one of their mobile chappies
* £60 + VAT if you live further away
* £100 minimum charge (so wait until you have 2 wheels to refurb)

Also, it's only £150 + VAT to buy a new 18" spider, so you may wish to weigh up the cost of repair against the cost of new wheels before deciding.

Someone mentioned this company on a thread recently - I book marked it but can't recall what comments were made.

Cheers hut49. I gave Car Care Systems a call and they only cover the Cheshire area at present, so no good for 99% of the country!!!

I also asked for a quote (to compare with Wicked Wheels) but they said they needed to see the wheels before quoting.

No use to me at all unfortunately.

Thats a bit of a liberty minimum of £100 this is just a thought but it might be worth seeing what Castle think about getting your wheel done for you when he visits them next? you never know the manager there Ian seems the sort of bloke that would help you out and who knows they might get the two at a time deal aswell and you might help each other
Just a thought thats what i would try.

Try spit n polish.
I have had 5 wheels done by them (not TVrs though) and they have always charged me £48 per wheel regardless of the amount of work needed to each wheel.

Try a company called Rim Tech.

I do not know their tel no. but they are in London or Kent area. I think they used to charge 30 sobs per wheel.
