Finally got my Cerbera back from Blackpool last Saturday after an accident on 4th January (yes it took 6 months and 4 days to fix !!).

Very happy with the way the car looks and at the weekend did a good 100 miles and loved every minute at it. Heres where things started to go wrong!

Monday - Breaks down at work.. AA called, they can't fix it. 250 people at my work lear out the window and make TVR are crap remarks... I'm gutted. Levae the car where it is and get a lift home with a mate.
Looks like electrical/wiring or imobiliser issue

Tuesday - Get a lift into work, about to call the AA to have it towed to a garage, think I'll try the car first again...and hey presto it works again !!

Wednesday - Car won't start at home, same problem as before. Go back in and make some breakfast. After an hour I try it again and it works ! Drive into work.
Try the car again after work to come home and it won't work again Get a lift home with a mate again along with more piss taking.

Thursday (today) - Had to cycle 15 miles to work. Tried car and its still completely dead. Call AA up and again in full view of 250 work mates get the thing loaded on the back of a truck and sent back to Blackpool. Much piss taking continues about how crap TVR's are.

Not a good week !

Don't worry, your not alone. I get endless jokes and remarks about reliability from my colleagues despite the fact mine is actually very reliable (touch wood).

Any mention of my car, que jokes about booking the AA in advance, someone following behind in a backup car.

Funny they tend to shutup once I've taken them for drive ...

Hope they get yours sorted asap.

Sounds like the immobiliser, similar thing happened to mine once, twice.....actually 4 times. 3 times to one garage (original dealer) who kept saying it was the ECU and reseting it.....got annoyed took it elsewhere and they diagnosed immobiliser and fixed it straight away.

Sounds to me like when it's fixed you need to do a couple of laps round the car park and set off 250 car alarms. They've earned it.

re. car alarms going off. Happened to me for the first time yesterday. Someone at work wanted to 'have a listen', I started her up and just at idle (no blipping!) and the alarm on the car behind went off!! Twice!!

Nearly Pd myself laughing

oh dear...

Nice !

Good news is that Blackpool have sorted the car already, it was an wiring problem on the back of the imobiliser which was shorting the electrics out.

Just have to wait until I can get it back now .... ho hum.

I wonder what cars the piss takers drive?

I find that normally they are green with envy.

Dont take any notice!!!!!!!!!

Not the most reliable car in the world, but certainly one of the best.

Can't Feckin beleive it !!!!

Car comes back from Blackpool on Tuesday.. "yes problem is sorted"... Today - breaks down again with exactly the same fault it went all the way from London to Blackpool to fix.

Car is stranded again, and this is the 5th time in two weeks I've had to call the AA out (only for them not to be able to fix it). BUGGER!!

Am extremely P*ssed off with it all. My days of TVR ownership are balancing on a knife edge.

Can you not get your local dealer to take it in and have a look, atleast it wouldn’t have to get transported back to the factory.

Yep, the local dealer has kindly said they'll take a look at it for me and Blackpool said they'd cover the costs. Only thing is, it looks more ominous than at first though which means it could take ages to fix. Local dealer are backed up with work so its down to them being nice to get it sorted quickly.

I just wish Blackpool had investigated it a bit more. I left a written explaination of the problem for them and told them it was an intermitent fault. It looks like they've just tried it, got it working and then shipped it straight back.

Well, looks like another week where I can't get to work..I'll probably get sacked soon as well !

Hi Bandit,

I am so pissed off to see you are having a few problems getting back on the road mate.
I know its no excuse but can only think TVR have been more interested in Le Mans recently and prehaps have discarded/ pushed to one side the likes of you.

Hope it all get ssorted ASAP and believe me even with the cock ups its worth it,
