Anyone know anything about it?
Did it belong to anyone here?

Saw this last week when we were up there getting a new exhaust fitted. This car is LOUD!!! It's got what look like Tuscan tailpipes on it. (I didn't peer underneath so I couldn't tell you what else is under there...)

Couldn't tell you much more than that, other than it had only just come in when we were there, and even in unprepped state it was . It looked very well looked after.

All IMHO, of course.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but wanted to ask SGirl what you had done to your exhaust at Fernies. Did you have a sports exhause fitted, or de-catted, or baffling removed, or something else.

I bought my Cerbera from there too (about a month before you), and am considering having the exhaust done.

The rear box is pretty expensive, and I haven't heard of anyone removing the baffling (which is the standard way to do the Rover V8). The decatting sounds better than sports exhausts in a lot of people's views. Both is probably too loud. I'm sure they'll be happy to do either or both :-)

I have just had the baffling removed on my 4.5. Its certainly louder now but I have noticed that the acceleration feels much quicker.

I wasnt expecting this at all and so I dont think its my imagination that it goes quicker.

The existing exhaust had de-baffled itself: it was stainless steel, and the weld failed where the exhaust stub exited the back box. So no exhaust stub, and after about 10 minutes of a Sunday morning blat, err, no baffling (looked like steel wool to me. Class). Good if you're into Saturn 5 at take-off noises, crap for track days. Luckily Fernies were very understanding & looked after us.

Sports exhausts will have to wait, next on the shopping list are 18" Spiders and Nitrons, not necessarily in that order.

Back to thread, that Purple illusion Cerb looked very well loved, with lots of loving additions, the Tuscan style exhaust being only one. Unless I'm mistaken, it had about half the Leven catalogue fitted, too, and not a paintchip in sight.

The 4.5 backbox is very efficient, and there is no direct baffling, just sound deadening material between the perforated pipes. So afraid that it won't really be any quicker even if it sounds like it! Amazing what sound does to the imagination :-)
