Thinking about a Cerby again, can people give me expected running costs and who are the best and upto date profiles that I can look at.

Thanks in advance.

It all depends on how many miles you are going to be doing. Fuel is expensive (expect 17mpg).

Servicing is expensive (assume that you'll pay a grand for a proper service every 6,000 miles and you won't be far wrong). When I sold mine, I totalled up all of the service bills that I had. It came to about £25k, which is about 50p per mile. That included things paid for by the warrenty company, and upgrades though, so it should be less than that.

Insurance is completely down to your record and where you live.

I've only had mine about 10 months, but you can look at my profile to see what I've spent my money on.

Neilus how does the chimp and cerby compare, in both reliability and running costs.

My 4.2 is in for a service, when I get the bill I'll be posting some costs for the last 10 months (services only not fuel).

The Chimaera was totally reliable, didn't use any oil, and went from service to service with no problems.

The Cerbera needs a bit more attention, I need to religiously check the oil and coolant levels. It doesn't seem to like sudden changes from warm weather to cold/damp weather. It certainly doesn't seem to like being left sitting around, especially over winter.

So far, I've only had it serviced once and it needed new brake pads, but it wasn't as expensive as I'd expected. It's definitely more expensive to run than the Chimaera (18mpg compared to 23/24mpg for starters). A new set of front tyres cost almost as much as all four on the Chimaera. So far I guess it's costing about 40% more, but I've got the 24k service coming soon - so, that'll all change.

Do I regret changing? No way.
Would I have another one? Yes, unless I could get a T440R

How on earth do you get 23mpg Bandit? I only ever managed that sort of fuel economy on the odd occasion I took it on the motorway.

Yep, allmost all done at main dealers.
I switched to an independant last year and the costs went right down. Don't expect to be paying anywhere near as much anymore.

Good luck!
