Had my cerb now for about 2 months and noticed the oil pressure dropping on the guage whenever I go round a left hand bend - only in the last few days though.

It seems like a bad connection / faulty sender unit or whatever it is cos the guage seems to drop quite slowly and then jump back up in starts when you straighten up again as if it has regained a connection and realised the pressure is actually OK. Car runs fine.

Normal pressure on cold tickover is about 60 and hot (town running) tickover is about 40 - 45.

Just wondered if ayone else has had a similar experience and if so what the fix is....

put some oil in it before you drive again, sounds like oil surge (oil sloshing away from the pickup pipe)

yeah don't muck about - i've just knacked the bottom end in my lancia with the same thing. Have now learnt - "oil light comes on - turn engine off NOW!"

Thanks.

I would have thought so too, but when I check the oil it looks OK. (The dipstick is crap though as we all know).

Just sounds like low oil then by the sounds of it and I can't read the dipstick. I'll stick some in and see how it goes.

Cheers

I'd keep an eye on it for while... you just reminded me that i also noticed the same symptom about 2 weeks ago, but ignored it as just taking the bends a bit quick. Now, oil and PAS pump is knackered.
Hope u don't have the same trouble as me. They may not be related at all.. hopefully just coincidence..
