I have a 4.5 november 02 cerbera and decided to take advantage of the GOOD weather yesterday i took her for a 70 odd mile scratch round the country lanes of essex, because the car is like a preasure cooker inside i had the Air con on full for most of the journey, after stopping for a bite to eat i returned to the car and found a puddle of water which had appeard from under the drivers front wing, i presumed it was the condensation from the air con unit which had been expelled, but after fighting with the hot starter motor to try and start her i started to drive home when i noticed my left foot was cold and wet! not remotely funny even if the mrs thought it was i decided a call to Castle would shed some light on the subject but by now they were shut so i carried on with the drive home when i was faced with a long empty wide winding lane..........well it would be rude not to give it some welly especially when the mrs was falling asleep so i nailed it, it was awesome right up until the point when the air vent below the steering wheel expelled ice cold water into my lap causing me to almost have a heart attack not to mention leaving me looking like i had wet myself as i was wearing shorts! yes this was bad enough but after a two car overtaking manouver i was pulled over by the police, who decided not to nick me just gave me a telling off perhaps they thought i had wet myself and felt sorry for me whatever but perhaps they felt sorry for me coz the mrs was killing herself with lafter............What a day. the point of this story is CAN ANYONE tell me how/why and where this water is coming from is it a fault with the air con?
ps looked at the car in the garage today and water is still dripping ocasionally from under the front wing.

Can't help you with the aircon, except to offer my sympathies. Surprised this can happen to such a new car.

I notice from your webshots that you seem to have a front speaker upgrade (there looks to be spacer rings between the door and speaker).

Did this come from the factory? What make are the speakers etc.

Thanks

Rob.

Paul,

Can't help you to where the water is coming from, but I can tell you I had exactly the same problem yesterday. Not quite to the extent you seem to have experienced, and not quite as shocking.

I too would like to know where it's coming from - or, to be more precise how to stop it.

Neil.

It just appeared to be coming from the drivers side vent, and dripping onto my foot.

Recently had a hire car on holiday in Australia - had pools of water under it whenever I stopped. Noticed everyone else's had the same thing and was told 'that is what they do sir'.... well not exactly, down under they don't use the word sir yet, bless them - we'll have to give them another 100 yrs to get there. My 4.5 has a factory fitted AC. Have never experienced your problem with it ...yet. Are you convinced its the AC, mind you the AC seems as good a thing to blame as anything!

Actually, now I come to think of it, sounds like an extreme version of the A/C icing problem other people have reported. However this doesn't sound too likely given most other people report wet feet as opposed to a lapful of water.

Just in case though it might be worth turning the A/C down to see if that helps. There is a little adjuster just under the dashboard on the drivers side (one of the previous threads even has a photo of it IIRC) and turning this adjusts the temp of the air coming out of the vents.

Just a thought

Thanks,
I spoke to Castle TVR today and thier service manager said niether him or his mechanics had ever experienced a fault like this on a Cerbera before? Im not sure what to do about it now, i know the water that made my left foot cold and wet came from the air vent set under the I.P. and the water that landed in my lap came from the vent behind the stearing wheel when i accelerated hard i also noticed the air vent tubes were beaded with condensation so i guess thats where all the water came from it must have been an acumilation of condensation, but i still cant understand how because the air con in the Cerb is a bit understated compared to the system in the mrs KA and that doesnt bath you from the vents EVER if anyone else has anything of value to add to this please do as i would like to get to the bottom of it and fix it.

Try a search of the threads. I know for a fact some other people have had problems with the A/C system icing up and then dripping water on their feet.

I can't offer any better advice as it has never happened to me. My aircon is a bit tame as well but this is precisely the reason I havent' turned it up.

Good luck

Rob.
