I'm thinking about developing a cover that goes over the front of our cars, similar to the nose covers that are seen in the USA and the rest of Europe. These covers are made of a material and protect the nose of the car against stone chips (particularly a problem on track days or long high speed drives). With a nose respray at around £700 it makes financial sense when I should be able to sell them for around £75. What does everyone think?

Sounds like a good one, although they don't half make cars look damn ugly.

On a positive note, in the current warm weather it could also double as dead-bug defender, as I am sure I must have gone through a cloud of them the other day ( although I suppose enough dead-bugs can act as a stone chip guard if left to accumulate --------- oh no ---------- the heats getting to me, I think I've finally lost it )

Let us know how it pans out.

Good plan for track days especially if you own a black car. Wouldn't use it on the road though.

just my opinion but... ugh! nasty things. rather have a respray every so often! I have the US equivalent of top marques and it really does not look good on cars... still might work for SLKs, TT cabriolets etc

what about the stuff called armourfend, clear covering thats put on over the areas that normally get the stone chips. but i hear it can cost a bit.

Johnny,

I'd buy one, provided it looked as neat as on most other cars. Let me know by e-mail if you ever produce them and offer them for sale.

Cheers.
