Headlight conversion, Is this right???
Discussion
Just had a front end respray and speed six headlight conversion done and have noticed that the driver side headlight lenses seem to protrude around one inch further than on the passenger side. The whole lense (both) assembly is set around 1 inch further in to the pod on the passenger side!!
I guess that this may be down to beam alignment which is what the bodyshop tell me but I cant help thinking that this looks a bit strange.
Also, I noticed that the part numbers on the lenses are different on each side.
Is this how they should be?????
Cheers,
Matt.

I'd expect the part numbers on the lenses to be different, as one will be a left hand lens, and the other a right hand lens.
I would suggest looking at a few other cars for a comparison to check whether they have been fitted. However, if they haven't, it serves you right for spoiling the lovely front end of your car with those stupid new lights

Not a fan of the conversion then James!!!!
Must admit, I had to think long and hard about it myself but Im dead pleased with the look so far.
Differences between part numbers on each side seems to make good sense. I will have to take a close look at a few other cars to compare the fit.

I guess that cerb is yours Olly???. I came across this pic on a number of occasions whilst looking for mine. A fantastic example!!!
butbetterwithpods!!!
My last TVR was a Chim in cooper green and I would not have considered the conversion on that car. The colour and shape was far more tratitional than the cerb and I dont think it would have worked at all.
My new Cerb is rather lairy with respect to its colour and I think this is why it gets away with it.

Agree, which is why I never had mine done, plus if I had the dosh availabie I would have spent it on more handling/braking/go faster goodies.
I can't think of any car that's been 'updated' thats ever looked as good as the original in retrospect. New styles often look good just because they're different, but the 'original' of any car usually has some coherent design that works timelessly.
So, for me, the original lights will always be best.
Each to his own though.

I have these Hella's on my Griff and having fitting and wiring(most important for brightness!) them myself i know they can be a bit of pain to set, patern wise, and appearance wise. You can screw them in and out by about an inch!! Mine are right now, i set them up wheels off parked around 20ft away from a brick wall, correct ride height and twiddled until correct.
