Well, sold the Cerb on Friday to Richard at Peninsula, sad day but after 30000 miles, 4 engine rebuilds and son growing up it was time to move on.

So bought a Merc ML430 (from Richard) Good trade in, well this thing is quick as quick can get.

2.25 tonnes of metal, 4,3 litre engine, 0-60 in 8 seconds, goes like sh*t off a shovel. Smooth, comfortable and quite as hell. (Richard says he may get one, he was on the phone to the missus talking about it when I picked it up)

Will return to the TVR fold in next couple of months, either Chimera or Tuscan, but am keeping the Merc for the family.

Will continue to consider myself a Pistonheader / TVR owner as it is just like a holiday until I can decide which one to have next.

"0-60 in 8 seconds, goes like sh*t" off a shovel" That's a mighty sticky shovel!

given that it sounds like his previous car spent most of its time in hospital i'm not surprised he thinks 8s is fast

I replaced my 4.5 Cerb with a Merc E55. It only does 0-60 in 5.5, but it also only takes a trip to the dealer for a service every 20,000 miles, and the average service bill is about 400 quid, instead of over a thousand every 5,000 miles.

It's reasonably quick on the track too
