I have started to notice that my gearchange is getting stiffer, having read though the previous posts on this subject I may need an gearbox oil change and lube the selectors. Does anybody know the correct oil and quantity? the car is a 99 4.5.

I believe this is the stuff you're after:

Gearbox Oil:
Mobil atf shc


Not sure on quantities I'm afraid.

At the risk of sounding dumber than a dumb thing, whilst I can find the filler tube for engine oil, where's the filler for the gearbox?

levels on normal car are usually chaecked by a plug on the side of the gearbox which can only be accesed from below. generally top up to the level of the plug and then put it back in. The drain plug is uaually on

well can't get any gears now, checked the clutch fluid leval ok, but very murky and possible black bits in it. Looks like the master slave cylinder then.
Anybody know the approx cost? I have a WH policy, 1st claim so I will see how good they are!

well the AA have now relayed the cerb to fernies, they are going to have a look on tuesday, NO CAR OVER THE BANK HOLIDAY!!!!!!
