Gear lever boot

My gear knob (ooh err missus) has the crapiest "boot" on it I've ever seen. It kind 'a comes up in a cone shape - then stops dead? I want to "tuck it in" at the top, so it looks better - anyone got any ideas how I could do it? I'm thinking turn it inside out, tie it up tight round the neck, then turn it back down on itself until its the right way round (did that make sense?) ... ?

Nope...but be sure to tie it in place with a cable tie!

Yeah that was what I was going to use ... still, should be worth it when done. Anyone know how much a new boot costs, 'cos mine's knackered (previous owner didn't take too much care of interior - although I've cleaned it up a treat, the boot is still crappy)
