Film forming by exhaust on bodywork

Just wondering if this is anything to worry about. One of my exhausts is producing waste gasses that are settling on the body work. They wipe off, that's not the issue, but since the are only coming from one exhaust is this indicative of any underlying problem.

It's a SpeedSix.... I also have a problem with it ticking over at 450 revs but I'm getting Andy to look at that next week... Don't know if these issues are related!

A film does sound like oil burn.
I would not use the car until this is looked at.

Our car used to cover the back of the car with oily dust when we first got it. Stopped doing it after about 2000 miles (car had sat un dealer forecort for 8? months before we got it, so that may have been the cause).

that's the peoblem with an even number of replies. Do nothing till you've got a two out of three majority [sorry, not very helpful really]

It could be fuel I suppose. Is the car in a good state of tune.

As a general rule of thumb, if you are unsure phone your dealer (assuming they are any good) or independent. If you leave it chances are it will get worse and be MUCH more expensive to fix later. After owning the car for a while you will get used to the sort of things that can go wrong and will be able to tell what is worth worrying about.

my first cerb did it for about 6,000 miles......right up until it blew up!

keep a close eye on oil usage that will tell you if you need to worry or not
