Wondering what and where the cheapest prices are for TVR alloys - 16/18" spyders and tyres all in?

Currently looking at either upgrading my alloys or just getting new tyres (currently SO2s).

In the past the cars had 18" on - I'm debating trying them again. So, the options I'm considering are:

1. 18" + Toyo's - been quoted £700 all in (including spaces, fitting, etc.) for the alloys by Team Proactive, and £510 for the Toyos on www.mytyres.co.uk (225 35 ZR18 x2 + 255 23 ZR18 x 2) - Total £1210. Anyone got a cheaper quote?

2. 16" Spyders - was quoted around £500 by HHC sometime ago, all in for used tyres and alloys.
Anyone fitted 16" spyders to their Cerbera? Any pics.? I like the ride with my current 16", but love the spyder look.

3. Just get some new rubber all round - Toyos @ £339 on mytyres.co.uk (225/45 ZR16 x 2 + 245/45 ZR16 x 2)

Any cheaper anyone - I'm based at Slough and Oxford at present?

Cheers,
Tommo

I found a good site, here which lets you select your make, year, model of car - then shows you all wheels compatible, with tyres, etc. and it seems quite well priced?

I like the ride of my S6 so am getting TVR 16" spiders thru Andy at APM (07740-723673). Anthracite (as they are the standard wheels painted) cost a bit more.

There's a recent Tamora thread which has before and after pics of a Tam with its original 16" spider wheels and then the upgraded 18" spiders. Undeniably the 18" look better as they fill wheel arches more effectively. With that in mind, I'm having my 16s painted black (same colour as car) - a bit of an experiment, but I expect to get the desired reaction on the road...

Bearing in mind I'm just trying to work out tyre sizes myself right now, but are you sure the tyre sizes you originally quoted are the right way round? I thought the 225/35 meant 225cm width with a 35% profile? Is that right? If so, then your rears have a lower profile than your fronts?

Typo! Its 35 (or 40's)! Decided to keep my originals and just replace the rubber - or get a set of 16" spiders if someone has any to sell, quick.

Cheers,
Tommo

I have just fitted 18 inch spiders, cost £930 at Clarks (Bromsgrove) i.e. spacers/steering rack stops etc. Bought the tyres from mytyres.net £499

So £700 is cheaper than I paid
