Hi All,

The wife is putting pressure on me to buy a car with more than two seats. The Cerbera is top on my list ... but I am worried she'll find it too difficult to drive (heavy clutch, gearchange, visibility, too much power!).

What are your experiences?

shak,

I'll reply for 'er indoors, she drives our Griff every day (non pas) and took to it like a duck to water...if your wife wants to drive a Cerby let her, or are there some other deep seated concerns you may have about a woman driving a TVR ?

In my humble opinion a cerbera is easier to drive than a griff , its a pussy cat until you really press hard on the load pedal, woman tend to be far more carful drivers than men anyway so i wouldnt worry.....besides think of the browny points......my girl friend doesnt want to drive mine but thats probably due to me scaring her rather than her ability to handle it

My wife drives our Chimaera 450 every day - its "her" car. No problems at all. Your wife will certainly manage to drive the Cerbera - given that she want to.

Best of luck.

Forget the chestwig image of the old Rover engined cars. The Cerbera is as light on the controls as my daughter's Ford Ka.
The only things for many drivers new to a Cerbera to get used to are very quick steering, phenomenal brakes and the potential to spin the rear wheels in third.
In my experience admiring glances are similar for the Cerbera and the Ka but I guess my daughter is quite pretty too.

Girlfriend likes to drive the Cerbie although not in traffic, she says that the clutch is too heavy for her dainty legs. I said " wadaya mean?", and then she pointed out that my left calf muscle was about twice the size of my right calf muscle....Hmmmm

The main embarassment for newcomers to the Cerbera is stalling due to the light flywheel. Wives don't like being embarassed...

My other half drives my Cerbie and has no problems with it. She has her own Chimaera, finds the Cerbera more of a pain in traffic (as do I) but loves it on the open road. Good luck, I'm sure you'll convince her it's the right choice!

I'm about to buy a Cerbera but when my girlfriend tried it for size she couldn't reach the peddals, even with the seat all the way forward (good or bad?). She is only 5'2" however!!

Thanks all for your replies.

Believe me, I have nothing against women drivers (apart from their parking abilities

All I got to do now is convince the wife to go on a test drive ... wish me good luck.
