Looks cool... what happend did Jools have it made up for you or did you have to leave it in the shop for a few days? And did you go via the Dealer to match the leather?
No wanting to drive all the way to Shefield does any one know anyone in the South who would be able to do something similar?

Nice one! I'd noticed the Caerbont oil temp gauge and wanted to replace the clock too, but never got round to it in the end. As previously mentioned, if you havne't got an oil temp gauge, best thing to do is wait for the idle pressure to drop, showing the oil has heated up.
Speed 6 will take longer to heat up since it has more oil in it, and it gets to cool easier sitting in the seperate dry sump tank rather than in the hot bottom of the engine.

thanks for your comments,
i made the leather pod myself, its just thin mdf with some foam on and then the leather.i already had some matching leather but you could use anything, carpet, carbon fibre sheet, black vinyl.
i installed the gauge and road pilot and wired them up so they come on with the ignition, then got joolz to help with fitting the sender unit as i didn't fancy drilling the housing to fit it.
the photo was taken from my seat so what you see is pretty much what i see.
the road pilot is excellent, far better than the silly radar detector i had before, with no false alarms.
the only problem is some reflections in certain sunny conditions, the same in fact as i get on my stereo, its backlit though.
for some reason my other pics wouldn't work so i'll try again

So how did you mount the home-made board panels then? Was it as simple as right-angle strips screwed in place or something? (but then, how could you avoid drilling from in front?) Also, how did you attach the amp without drilling the tank behind it?
