noisy rockers

I should have mention in my last posting that the Cerb I bought was a 1997 model. I also find that the tappets/rockers are relatively noisey and I understand this can be overcome by fitting a modified Cam shaft. Is this so and does anyone have an idea of the cost involved?

I guess you don't need tappet adjustment then? I don't know about the costs, but some people have stated that the 4.2's with the "old" noisy cams are the fastest ones... Not that I claim any technical knowledge whatsoever.

According to the Joospeed site, the earliest Cerbs have the same cam as the tuscan racer, and do sound rough, although they prolly produce more power.

Thanks for the swift replies. Given that it will probably affect the power if I have the Cams changed/upgraded.....I'll stick with the noise as this can be drowned when you put your foot down! We are still living in a dream, drive around with the windows open justs enjoying the sound of the engine and the popping coming from the exhaust....it's great.

What did you pay for your Cerb?
What sort of condition was it in? history?

Its in brillient condition inside and out with 22000 miles on the clock. Its had 2 previous owners......I'm not saying how much I paid for it just in case you burst my bubble by saying I paid over the top! That might spoil the way I look at my pride and joy. I bought it from a dealer so I know I paid over the odds compared to private purchase, but in reading some of the comments on this gassing station about some of the problems you can get with Cerbs, I thought I'd play safe and buy from a dealer.
