Hi guys, New owner, One weeks fun and already off the road. anyone out there ever had a catalyst that glows in the dark. Gather this is down to unburnt fuel ignighting in the cat have checked for spark at plugs and all seems ok. Any ideas?

well if you park it over dry grass like that your problems would soon be over ..
might be a good idea to get that checked out ..?

Realise this is a dangerous situation thats why the car is off the road now. cant get it in to be looked at for 2 weeks, just wondered if i might sort it with some advice.

replace the cats with straight thru pipes (see Joolz!)

elimates the problem and sounds great.

could remove the cats but already have sport exhausts and thats loud enough, would rather know what created the problem in the first place. been a pain not being able to use it over this weekend

You have prob got too muc fuel getting through. CAT is prob shagged now?

Turned out to be a dodgy oxygen sensor which led to overfueling on one bank. Which led to fuel igniting in the cat.

Was only one of the cats that was glowing, Dont know whether its knackered or not but im not really bothered. The cats on these dont seem to last very long anyway and for the MOT ill just get them to test the other side.
