I know, I know, Cerbera's do make noises - and I'm cool with that - but there's a particular one that concerns me 'cos it sounds a bit "too" mechanical for my liking ...

When idling, say at traffic lights, I sometimes get a kind of "grinding" type metallic, rotating type noise from the centre-console (the raised bit all the way down the middle of the car, with gearshift on it, etc.) from about mid position along (near my a*se) - and no - it's not me :-O

Anyone got any ideas - should I be scared?

Difficult to be accurate without hearing the noise, but I had a similar problem that turned out to be an exhaust flange just catching the propshaft-only happened at a particular engine speed on overrun. Could be something similar; there's very little clearance between the flanges and prop.
