I have a slight conundrum so what would you do in my position.....

You own a early 4.2 p reg cerb with full TVR main dealer history, you have a good relationship with the dealer you bought her off, but your racking up the miles and its service time in the not too distance future. You keep hearing how good a lot of independants are and perhaps the thought of main dealer servicings costs concern you. Do you:

a. keep with the dealer, keep the fTVRsh, and poss spend more

or

b. try a well respected independant (more local), loose the main dealer TVR service history, and save some money.

I may be looking to px my car for a 4.5LW RR in 1-2 yrs time at a TVR dealership, hence my concern re going the independant route now and hence perhaps losing money at px time. Personally if I was buying privately, servicing by a good independant would not put me off (to the contrary).

Any thoughts much appreciated......

I'd say going with a respected independent wouldn't hurt - many of those know that they take a great deal more care than the main dealers so it would even be preferable. I had no problems selling my 3 year old 4.5RR with the 24k done by Joospeed.

By going independant you will save more than enough money to counter the loss of not having a full dealer service history.

a full service history is a full service history, i really don't believe it makes any financial difference on the resale of a TVR (they are such a specialist car anyway)
go find a good independant and spend your savings on petrol

like wise I have forsaken my factory history, and Joospeed does the business, and quite frankly does a better job.....
