Could someone tell me what the normal running temperature for a Cerbera 4.2 is, and what it rises to after the engine is stopped.

I have just had major work done after a cracked sump, and the temperature stays at about 90 or below when moving, but rose to almost 110 when I got stuck in a jam on the M25 this morning.

It also rises alarmingly after the engine is stopped. I don't think the fan is cutting in correctly.

I am a virgin TVR owner and loving every minute (when its on the road!)

another virgin owner from Belgium with the same cerbera 4.2 and the same temperature problems. The temp gauge is certainly not working correctly (proven with a temp measuring instrument)
Possible sollution: the mounting of a supplementairy switch on the dash, to engage one or both the cooling fans in case everything is getting too hot underneath the bonnet.

Am a 4.5 owner from new, Sept 2000 reg. I think the manual says 90ish is normal running temperature. Mine runs at 95-100, sometimes 105 but the garage tells me that it's normal. Just need to check fluids every now and again (manual says do that every week!)

Best check fans are running. Open the bonnet and check when hot! - mine did the 110 thing and the fans were not working - duff temp sensor. - now hovers between 90-100.

What ever you do don't upgrade the rads. It's been done on mine and in the summer and traffic its great, on the motorway in the winter the engine doesn't get hot enough to power the heater properly. Drove from London to Devon last winter, think my B*****ks dropped off somewhere near Bracknell

could be wrong here, but I am sure my temp sensor was in line, in one the hoses. - once you have found it, just short both the wires coming out, and the fans should burst in to life.....
