Presumably this will be c450bhp and 200mph. I think they have been available for a few months through selected dealers - denied by TVR sales but confirmed by the enginerring department. Will this engine configuration be the base version of the Tuscan 'R'?

None. Engine mods only. 450bhp is what I've heard banded about but I suspect that's a little optimistic.

I don't think that 450bhp is optimistic at all ...
A friend of mine at TVR told me that there is "a good 10-15% increase in power". if you do the math that equates to 462bhp to 483bhp. This should just about pull off 200 mph or at least get damn near it.

10% increase in power is fine. But increase over what? The highest 4.5 observed so far has been 350bhp, so that's still only 385. In fact, JR himself says it's only 25 bhp or so, so mine might only be 375.

it's just numbers blablabla go and testdrive blablabla
I can't hear it !!!
How the f... should I feel on a 15min testdrive that its got 1210Kg (inst. of 1100Kg) and it's producing only 385 bhp inst. of 420????? .... and this is a serious deviation!!

Then rather Bentley, and don't quote anything. As long as it's "enough", they don't care what the output is.

Gentlemen at TVR: This car deserves a little more "grandesse"
Poor poor poor .... Bigmouth!

Well, I did get a 15% increase in power, from 350 to 400. Who was this friend of yours at TVR? You should have asked what the actual power was as wel!!

I'm talking about Power at the flywheel not the rear wheels.
The guy who told me is "just" one of the people who works at the factory , he's friendly with one of the engineers and that's how he (and I) found out about the increase.
And apparently there's also talk about a 5 ltr AJP V8 for a limited edition cerbera but i think this could just be a rumour at the factory.
I've got all my fingers crossed though !!!

Before I had a 4.5 Cerby I went to Blackers for a test drive in a yellow '4.5' factory car - it was unfeasibly rapid and span it's wheels without any provocation. The term 'animal' is often used but this was truly savage. On the basis of that experience I ordered the car.
I had the car for a year and did 10k in it and generally mashed the pants of it here and in Europe. It never, however, felt remotely like that demo.
Transpires that the car I was taken out in was nominally badged 4.5 but was originally host to a 5.1 litre lump which wasn't too reliable(!), subsequently replaced with 4.7 litres...but nobody was sure which version I'd driven.
The saliency of this point is that when you've got high 400s or even (claimed) 500 gee gees within a Cerby (seen the ad?) then you'd better fit an ejctor seat.
