Fuel Consumption

Having had my late '98 4.2cc cerbie for a few weeks, I was wondering what mileage other owners get to the gallon, both around town/city, and on a run?

Don't really keep tabs on that sort of thing.

But, when I first got mine I did do a couple of rough calculations - it was about 18/19 mpg. (Mine's a 4.5).

Now I've got used to the car, it's probably gone down a bit. Read into that what you will.

Monitored mine (4.5) over a year, 18.1mpg average, 28.4 highest (motorway use) 15.9 (town).

I get 16-18 mpg, 4.5 and a lead foot.

Given all the figures quoted is any one slightly surprised how economic these cars can be, i was expecting it to be a lot worse until i did the math...

I was amazed at the fuel consumption of my 99 4.5, 18(ish) normal mixed driving and 27 on motorways. I only get 28 on the motorway from my Vectra 2.5 and 20 normal
