Just spent 5 hours waiting for the AA to low-load my car back home after the clutch decided to go!

Not assuming it is the clutch but can put the car in gear but it won't move at all, justs revs and smoke comes out the gear knob gater! So, just checked my receipts and new clutch fitted about 3k miles ago. Surely it isn't that fragile? Anyone got any comments and should this be covered by some sort of warranty by TVR Power who fitted the new clutch?

Thoughts and any comments very much appreciated.

My 4.2 is going back to dealer after 2.5k miles to check clutch, after the bite moved all the way to the top of the peddle within a week. I'll keep you posted if a fault is found.

cheese99 : Who replaced the clutch ? A friend of mine had his clutch "replced" 3 times ! in 2000 miles by a garage that is about to become a dealer (don't want to mention names), and it was only the 4th visit to a different dealer (Dream Machines) when the clutch actually worked properly !

(I think it was 3 times anyway, might have been more !)

Cheese99, that doesn't sound right !

I had one go after 8 months and I though that was bad.
When i approached the dealer who fitted mine they said that parts had a 1 year warranty. When I told them they'd fitted the clutch only 8 months ago they changed their mind and said the clutch was only covered for 6 months !

Surely the dealer can't complain if its only done 2000 miles on it?

Thanks for the comments. Clutch fitted when the engine was rebuilt by TVR Power in Coventry. Car is now on the way to Castle in Stansted and am waiting for a call from TVR in Coventry to confirm what their position is. It may not be the clutch but, if it is I bloody hope they do fork out for the bill! £540 last time, without labour!!
