Can anyone please send me details of recommended insurance brokers so I can begin looking in the right place for insurance for my 1st Cerbera soon? Any advice and/or guidance would be very much appreciated.
Rgds,
Chris.

Paid about £1000 for me and the wife (27 & 25). Only had two years no-claims and first TVR, with sunninghills. Includes track day cover.

I've heard of this place called Sunninghills, but have zero contact details - I've tried the net to no avail. Does anyone have a phone number or address or something?

Try Norwich union direct - £625 for me and the mrs with business use. Am just putting their claims dept. to the test, some silly person reversed into me in ASDA's car park. Apparently it was my fault for being behind them at the time! Only scratched paintwork but still £ 300 to get two panels resprayed! Three guesses as to the sex of the perpetrator - I suspect you will only need one!

Just tried 'em - my insurance is up next month. GBP 1500 for a 99 Cerbie 4.5. Doh ! That'll be the Manchester post-code ... unfortunatley, still up there with downtown Baghdad

Sunninghill were oddly expensive for me too - i'm 30, 3yrs NCB and was trying to insure my '97 4.2 Cerb - they quoted £1500 or so. I live just round the corner from them in Surrey.

In the end, Mannings (the TVR club insurer) quoted about £800 I think. And they include TVRCC track days and the excess isn't stupid.

Sunninghill although good for a year or two didn't give me a good quote recently either, up £100 on the previous year. Mind you I also asked them for a quote for a Clio 172 Cup and was stunned when it came in at the same prices as the Griff 500, well over half the cost, half the BHP.......

Just tried Classicline for a Cerbera 4.2 1997
£455 for me (32) and my wife (30) not using any NCB with a limit of 5000 miles pa.

Best quote before this was the little red phone at £727 and taking 5+ years NCB from my wifes 'main' car

Guess which way I'll be going....

edited to say - thats £250 cheaper than insuring my A-B car a Golf TDi!!!! (no NCB you see!)

Does anyone know what happens if you accidentally go 'over mileage' on a restricted mileage insurance. Is it just that they refuse to cover you next year and not honour any claims if you're over? Or do they send the boys round

They will just not pay out.
Actually it depends on the insurer , circumstances of any claim etc Why take the risk. sort it out up front and go back if you think you will exceed.

I'm not intending to go over - just curious really. If I'm likely to go over I will go back to them.... What would they typicaly do, start a new policy every 5000 miles?
thanks

CHEAM were very reasonable considering I've got a couple SP30's and they covered track days. They were very helpful too.

I think they are part of Hill House Hammond.

And a London postcode.

If you want cheap try TESCO they do lots of Tivs.

Just quoted £769 for 4.5 cerb(my first) 6 yrs no claims and Im 32 living in Surrey.

They seem £100 cheaper than direct line if your not intereted in frills like track day cover. excess is low too around £175
