Not trying to part ex, just trying to sell.

I notice in a previous post though that you had £15K to spend on a clean FSH example. Not sure if £15K and 'good' necessarily go together when looking at second hand Cerberas. Most of the 'sorted' early cars seem to command at least a few grand more. I'm sure if you set you budget a bit higher [maybe you have now] you would get a car that in the long run would cost you less.

For example, if you get a car even with a FSH thats still on the original style clutch, then you're looking at at least a £1K bill when it comes time to replace it, as you'll need the new flywheel assembly etc., rather than just friction plates. There are still cars out there with the early 'clatter cams', again some with FSH. These cams will wear out. You will no longer get them replaced FOC.

Hey, a dealer just offered me £20K for mine if you can beat that it's yours [plus the finders fee of course].

At last a dealer offers proper money for a proper sorted Cerbera. Well done William!!!!!. What are you getting to replace it and will you still be going out on the circuits?

Sorry...it was a joke...I thought the wink would give it away!

'Chancer' said he'd beat what a dealer offered in PX, so I said £20K...geddit. No, it's still up at the absolute steal price of £18,995ono. There ain't no dealers in Scotland now, so no real opportunity to go for a PX. Anyway, its a 'swap' rather than an upgrade [in price terms] I'm after, so I need the cash.

I'm actually looking at doing the same thing but swapping my XJR for a TVR.

Nice try William! Yours looks great but it's too much for me. Times are hard! After all, it's March, we're just about to go to war and the stock market stinks. Not an ideal time to be selling an expensive sports car.

Dealers know this and they offer peanuts. If I can give someone a bit extra and get a nice car in the process then it's good for everyone!

Yeah but you easily get into the situation where if a car is any good people will just hang on to it rather than get rockall for it, and the only ones you find for sale are crap...

I found this a few years ago when looking for an early integrali... prices were low but there were no good cars for sale, plenty about just not for sale.

Id also question that if 15k is all you can afford for a car like a cerby are you sure you can afford to run it?
