I have a friend who has just put a deposit down on a new Black WRX STi with the Prodrive pack added (Takes it up to 300BHP and 0-60 of 4.4). It’s getting delivered end of May total price is £26990. They have agreed to have the alloys sprayed in a matt black or anthracite colour to secure the deal (He didn’t want gold). Do you think it’s a good deal? I’m not a big fan of the WRX, I have also thought the EVO (Older model, the new one looks a bit soft to me! I know it still goes like s**t off a shovel) was a better car, but I think the price per performance is very good! Any of you guys come up against one of these in your Tiv and been surprised?

A Scooby/EVO stands no change against a Cerbera in a straight line. Round the corners, unless the Cerbera driver likes playing with death, then a Scooby/EVO will be faster....

But lets face it, a Cerbera will ALWAYS look better, and sounda LOT better than any Jap box...

To be honest, now that you can buy a Cerbera 2nd hand for £18k EASILY, I'd say £27k for a jap box is a rip off ! (just my oppinion)

Probably better asking on a main gassing channel, rather than the Cerbera one though.... Less likely to get abuse !

I've recently just sold my scooby and got a Cerbera, I'm loving it and have no regrets...

Yes he will get a very quick car for the money which goes quickly in all conditions, he'll be able to jump in the car and go quickly when ever he wants (unless it gets stolen first)..

Yes in the right conditions it would beat a TVR, wet slippery road, but park the two next to each other and I know which one I'd get into.. It's really hard to compare to cars like this..

Don't forget a Landrover can beat a TVR (across a muddy field)

Don't get me wrong, I still want the Cerbera!! I've set my heart on it now! Just thought for a NEW car cost per bhp was very good! There can't be much out there to buy new that can do 0-60 sub 5 secs for under 30K that is still practical!

I wanna dispute the Scoobies go round corners quicker claim.. in the wet, yes. In the dry you may be surprised and it depends on what corners we are talking about. Ok real life B roads a WRX/Evo/GTR probably is quicker through the twisty bits but I can personally vouch that on track its a lot closer. And of course it becomes deeply embarrassing on the straights. Does it matter? Nah - they are all really quick cars and great fun to drive. But which one is going to attract the oohs and aahs outside the pub at lunchtime?

To be honest this type of comparison is good pub talk but totally pointless - The cars are just soooooo different.

I've had a TVR and now I have a Scoob - both enormous fun, just in different ways.

Given the choice, I'd have both - just like some PHers already have done.

I can guarantee, that unless you have, balls off steel, formula one sytyle reflexes. That even a standard wrx will be quicker point to point down a typical country road.

Can't put the roof down though, new subaru still looks a bit naff as well.

Or I'm just not brave enough.
Took a test drive down roads that I know well in my Griff 500. The wrx had the ability to confidently go much quicker, than I would attempt to drive the griffith. Also tried STI, arrrgghhhh.....

That is not saying that a Giffith isn't quicker (it is in right hands) I (most) people would just not try that hard in very powerful RWD car, against the subaru.

Lot's of respect. VERY good performance to the pound, plus 4 seats.

Still keeping the griff, and buying a leon cupra, £14 K (negotiate) and 180 bhp.

I'd say having had both that a Cerbera is a fair bit quicker point to point than a Griff, I'm not suggesting WRX quick on slippy or twisty stuff but quicker than a griff.
