On refilling the washer bottle I proceeded to drop the top down the front of the engine and onto the sump guard! Klutz! Fix? The top of a half pint milk carton from Tesco fit perfectly. Looks a bit odd with a green lid but what the hell.

Anyone else been so clumsy?

Had exactly the same thing happen with mine. I used a lid off a bottle motoroil, until I happened to stumble across the original top at the side of the road whlst walking home a month later!

I cannot tell you how pleased I am that I am not the only person in the world who has done this

Calling at Tescos on the way home to provide the parts for the remedial work

I've still got the original top on mine, but seeing as the bodywork is green, and semi-skimmed lids are green...

[Nah, it'll probably clash something terrible...]

I have a Sainsburys Semi Skimmed top on mine. A much better fit than the original and a great colour match for my Formula Red Tuscan.

(Original top disappeared by itself )

Yep, mine popped off one day (either that or I left it off). Turned up 2 weeks later sitting on top of the engine!

I've got a bright orange child proof lid from a tub of multi vitimins! ( for no other reason than it fitted properly).
Do you think this will affect the resale value?

Dealers generally have a supply of spares... don't ask me how I know either! :-)
