Anyone one know what the difference is between an intermediate service and a full service - i.e. what do you not get in the intermediate service that you get in a full service. I am going to use Fernhurst for my first service since owning the car so any info greatly appreciated

IIRC full service requires the tappets be adjusted whereas intermediate service doesn't.

If you go onto the Henley Heritage site contained within its bowels are the service schedules for 6000 and 12000 services.

That will tell you exactly what is different.

Tappets are an add on to the service schedule I think...

I think Fernies have got quoted prices on their site for Cerbie services. so the difference is about £200 plus tappets. Dont know what they quote for tappets , think it is poa (not a good sign!?).
You then need to factor the other stuff they find/need to do.
I think they stil charge a higher labour cost for a cerb than for a rover based car. I still dont understand that one. Especially since woody has now gone (or so I believe). Get that credit card primed.

Had both types of service done at Fernies, main differences appeared to be more attention to brakes and throttles. Tappets are extra and price depends on time taken but usually around £400.

At my last 24000 service, extra work carried out compared to last visit were that the throttle banks were removed, cleaned and adjusted. The brake disks were removed and skimmed. The brake calipers were not only cleaned, they were repainted!

Price for last service, including tappets and a couple of minor repairs was £1100
