I''ve had my V''reg 4.5 Cerbera for about 3 months now. No longer satisfied with buying the obligatory TVR merchandise, such as key fobs, polo shirts etc, I have decided my Cerby need a set of the 18" Tuscan style alloys. Is this a good idea, as I have heard stories of p+ss poor tyre wear, can anyone out there offer some advise on this possible upgrade ??? If so where is the best place to get hold of a setn without necessarily having to sell my Grandmother to raise the cash !!!

One way to ease the financial pain might be to sell your existing 17 inch set. I am interested in a second set of 17 inch wheels. David B19TOY@aol.com

The Tuscan wheels will stuff your turning circle - 3-point turns become 7-point turns. Clive Reed Zertec Limited info@zertec.co.uk www.zertec.co.uk

In actual fact Alan they were £1550 inclusive of Vat, compared to Fernhurst who wanted £1900 plus vat! As it transpired the final bill for wheels, tyres, 18K service, and first mot on cerby amounted to £1901.05 plus vat! Phone number for Dream machines is 01435 868456.

Out of interest Clive, why do you think changing the style of wheel would affect the turning circle? Provided the rolling radius stays the same by using lower profile tyre and provided the rims are of the same width and off-set surly there would be no difference overall? Rich…

Nice to hear from you Mike - good news too that you have had your Cerb tuned up - hopefully you will now be able to be full throttle and not let Griff 500 drivers pull away from you...

Tony, You know your stuff! - I can confirm that my 4.5 suffers from the rear wheels hitting the arch. - This only happens if the kids are in the back, or a really bad hump in the road. - but they transformed the car! - they look Sooooooo much sexier than the std fit 17". I guess this answers the turning circle question as well.

Because with the travel stops, there is less turns lock to lock, i.e. less steering angle.

No - what I meant was that if the wheel is the same rim width why does it need travel stops in the first place? I realise what they do...

The rim may be the same width, but is the offset? This is the position of the rim centre in relation to the mounting face of the hub. Do the spider wheels actually stand proud of the rim at any point, or is that an optical illusion? If they do it may be the spoke rather than the rim that needs the extra clearance.

Id have thought the wheels would have to bolted on back to front for the spokes to rub against the wishbone - that would be a pretty obvious mistake , and the off-set can be specified when the wheels are ordered. I'll drop it now... Rich.

If your offering the 17" wheels at a good price I'd be interested in them. Andy
