After a break from TVR's for about 5 years, three weeks ago I finally got around to buying a Cerbera. After hunting for a couple of months, found my perfect 4.2 with 18" wheels and sports exhaust..

It is as amazing as I expected and already put another 700 miles on it in three weeks.. So if you see the car below blasting around Hampshire do say hello!!!

Although, they haven't all been trouble free, having previously owned a TVR, I'd prefer to call them features.....

1. Like a few other Cerbera's I do seem to have the door issue, can't get out!!! But resetting the alarm has always resolved this.. Must call the dealers about this one..

2. At the weekend when starting the engine from cold it would kick in then when the revs settle die, unless I kept the rev's up when cold? Apart from once, when it took a few times to get the engine started at all. Is this the start of maybe the started motor being unhappy or just another box that may need restarting..

Any pointers would be useful..

The car looks stunning in that blue.

Your dealer should be able to fit a new control box if your old one is playing up. Though no doubt he will resist this, as they are quite expensive. There is no reason why you should have trouble getting in or out your Cerbie this is not a feature it's just annoying.

Again I would get them to look at your idle too. I don't think this is a common problem.

Try holding the revs at 1,500 rpm for at least 2 minutes. It cured my problem for a few months.

If not, could be the battery or alternator? Had to put in a new battery.
