Just drove this one. This apparently is a "factory car", and they have "done something to it" (also outside, black, anthracite spiders, latest fared-in lights - on a P-reg...) - but the engine seems just the freeest-revving, smoothest running over the whole rev range, poppiest and damnright quickest I have driven so far (well not that many, another 4.5 and a RR version). Also, even though it looks a bit tatty, not a squeak or rattle to find and the thing feels very "planted".
Maybe it's just my imagination, but has anyone ever heard of this one and what might be modified in it? It doesn't have the RR fuel switch, so at least on the outside it isn't an RR.

There were two 4.7's I know that much, one is up for sale, could this be the other ex-press car?

Matt.

Love the urban myth of the 4.7. I recently bought my first Cerbie - first venture into TVR-dom infact !!!

I've now got the 1999 London motorshow Cerb. First response I heard from anyone(after gloating over the weekend purchase) was, "that had undefined factory mods ..."

Tried searching the net for any hints as to the whereabouts of the 4.7 "press car". Can't say I found anything - however did heard the same thing from 3 different sources now.

In the meantime, Dealer wasn't able to add anything.

Curious if anyone can add to this ?

P.S. Engine re-built just before I bought it, therefore only just had nod for 3,000 plus rpm. Can't say whether it's blindingly quick or not yet

You can phone up Hannan at TVR and the will pull the build sheet for you. It doesn't tell you that much but if they were 'special' cars then the mods 'may' be listed on there.

If its had a RR conversion this will be listed, and I did decide to get this as I bought a Tuscan RR privately, and I wanted to verify the mod had beed actually done.

Its £30 + vat, a bit pricey but when you go to sell the car it might add 35 quid to the value and you get your money back
