Tyre Pressures
Discussion
Hello,
I was wondering what pressure you have your tyres at? The book says 22psi on the front and 24 on the back.
After a recent service I noticed that all the tyres were at 32psi.
I have since lowered the pressure to the recommended values in the handbook and noticed a better ride. Why do you think a 'TVR Specialist' would set the pressure so high?

I always set to 26 all round. kills the squidgy feeling on high profile tyres, protects the rims on 35 series tyres and stops the inner tyre edge wearing away so fast. Plus judging by some of the tyre pressures I see TVR owners don't always check as often as they should .. so they work towards what TVR say rather than away (ie lower) than what they say - it's MUCH more dangerous to have an underinflated tyre than an overinflated one ...
Generally you're supposed to increase pressures. This doesn't appear to be quite so necessary with the lower profiles. Some people even reduce pressure with SO3's. The answer is to vary them a bit and see how they feel. Change them by 2 psi at a time and see how it changes the handling.
