Best place to buy a damaged tvr from?

beware of the ol' chassis damage when buying a write off - ins co only write off if beyond economical repair! - generally repair costs are greater than 65% of cars value. Salvage co will tell you 'no chassis damage' - often impossible to tell until on a jig, then 2 late - beware of heart ruling head - been there!!
IIRC TVRs have to be returned to the factory for any chassis repairs?? Have seen them offered privately in Autotrader..

viper said: not sure its the best place, but in the Midland autotrader there's a Birmingham company - Optima? that used to advertise they specialise in crashed TVR's you can buy them repaired or DIY repair. They have access to replicated TVR body panels as well
i thought optima had gone tits - up? just something i heard the other day .. may be worth a phone call to find out, might get a bargain.
