Got mine back!
Discussion
Got my Cerbera Speed Six back about a week ago following top-end rebuild at factory via MV. Cost me a packet unfortunately.
That said, car at the moment (after 200 miles or so ) is going great and sounds absolutely superb with it's non standard pipes. It's been a gutting experience given the cost of repairs when taking account of the age/mileage/history of this car into account. But then again, the car when on song is fantastic and MV(Salfords) were genuinely excellent. I just hope that all remains well for the future ! I love this car, the performance and NOISE is superb and I genuinely hope after all the expense that I can now enjoy the car for what it is.
Best regards, Meridian

Joolz,
No, the factory were fairly cagey about exactly what was done to the motor and as the recipient of a large bill I have taken it on the chin and expect things now to be right.
You're right, if it goes wrong again then it would be a bit of a shame (understatement !) and certainly will end my TVR ownership permanently in favour of 993/996, 348, E39 M5, E46 M3 etc (maybe not so exciting, but more reliable perhaps). However, I sincerely hope that this is not the case as the I honestly do really admire the car for it's unarguable (inarguable ?) qualities. I have owned and still own other desirable high performance cars and they do not "break" that often. I do now expect the TVR to keep running or it will definitely be the end of TVR ownership for me. We shall see.

mlumb,
Sure, if I required a full breakdown then i'm sure it could be obtained. At the end of the day, the engine was sent back to the factory on my behalf by my local main dealer. The repair work carried out by the factory is separately itemised on the invoice as "TVR Specialist Engine Repair" (almost as a sub-contract item) whilst all other work carried out by MV is comprehensively itemised.
To the best of my knowledge, the engine has had a complete top-end overhaul, certainly to include, cams, valves, lifters etc and I would hope that whilst the engine was up at the factory any other critical upgrades were included.
To be frank, having now paid out for the work my only real concern is that the car continues to run as it should. As long as it does so then I'll be happy.
