Toyo tyres are the dog's nuts

Just fitted a set of Proxes T1-S to my 4.2 and they have made such a massive difference to road holding. If you're looking to replace yours then I can recommend these without doubt, especially in this wet weather.

Started to look a bit demented driving, with a big smile perminently on my face! Go get emm!!

Our bridgestone S02's arent too near retirement at the moment, but when they are do you think we should get the toyo's over the S03's? The toyos are cheaper arent they?

I'm waiting for someone to say they've got Toyos on a 4.5 (or 17", really) and say "They're brill". I'll need to take the SO-2's off sooner or later, and I've not really had a definitive comments from anyone, really.

Yeah, but I have SO3's on my 18s, and they're at least as good as the SO2PP.

All,

I've 17" wheels, 235/40 70's on front and 255/40 70's on rear. Balanced, valves and fitted £500 for all four. Running 22 psi/front and 24 psi/rear. Grips that well I almost feel I could climb up a wall!

Are the toyos the same size as the so2, for the tuscan
they seem to have gone narrower at the back, wider at the front and higher profile ?

Are these available as 16"s as well. Does anyone else out there rate the Toyos over the recommended Bridgestones?

My 4.2 Cerb is running on the standard 16" rims, and as all 4 boots need replacing pretty soon and I would consider Toyos if they are generally thought to be better. Are they a softer compound (ie will they wear out quicker) than Bridgestones? Sounds like they're cheaper too, not that I would buy them just to save a few quid.

ps Oh...and as it's time for new boots anyway, if anyone is thinking of upgrading their nice 17" 4.5 wheels for 18" spiders, I'm sure I could convince the missus that it would be a good idea for us to upgrade to 17"s!!

Rocket (Neil), I would really like to upgrade to 18" Spiders. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with my 17" wheels and tyres at present so im finding it hard to justify to the missus. However, if you would be interested in buying a private plate from me aswell then i could justify it. Just a thought. Feel free to e-mail me if you're interested.

Thinking of changing to Toyo"s soon on my 4.5 cerb, have 18" Spiders with 35 profile, anyone running Toyo"s on these size wheels and how do you rate them? On Bridgestone S03"s at the moment and I find them to be very unpredictable and yuck basically with normal use.

Point taken typo, obviously 17 not 70 inch vehicles. Having said that does a Cerbera not have a buckert on the front?

My 4.5 runs 18" spiders with Toyo's and they're outstanding. I took part in Dream Rides at Kimbolton last year and one of the guys I took out owned an Elise and was clearly impressed with the handling of the Cerbera, down in part to the tyres. It certainly seems more predictable than my Griff even though that too had hydratrak.

Where do you recommend I call for the best prices for these Toyo"s, calls I have made so far differ so much I can"t beleive it !

I get mine from a local tyre specialist and in fact the only place I've bought from since moving to Suffolk. Little back street place, X-Spurt Tyres, tel: [phone]. Oh and £149 each for SO3's although I've yet to replace the Toyo's.
