What is the valve arrangement in my 4.5 ie 4 valves /cylinder, shims , tappets (screw adjusters)and does anyone know what the valve clearances are?

Good to see a few Cerberas at the Dick Turpin today even though not many!

The AJP engine is 2 valves per cylinder. Adjustment of valve clearances is done by fitting shims under the cams. Don't know the actual clearances required. It's quite a big job, hence the £400 ish price from dealers.

16 valves in total. The shims are actually under the bucket followers, which the cams actuate, so you have to take the cams out to adjust the clearances. I can't remember the exact clearances either (10 & 8, for ex & in?), but they're very quick to check once you've stripped the covers off.
