The New Cerbera
Discussion
I have spent the last few weeks reading backwards (not literally) into the depths of the archive, and have consumed thousands of individual comments and posts. (It's what I do to keep me enthused, given that I dont yet own a TVR)
I was wondering if everyone could contribute a little to put together an executive summary of specific improvements that have been made to the Cerbera since 1997 or so.
There are hundreds of comments or opinions scattered across thousands of threads, but none really gave me any clear idea at all of what one can expect in terms of improved reliablility and modification on all aspects of the Cerbies that will be comming out the factory in the next few months, in direct comparison to those that came out 5 years ago.
Sorry if this has been asked before... I did spend 2 weeks reading as much as I could before starting to ask my noob questions and I didn't find any posts that actually defined what has been done on the overall car... other than hearing that the sp6 is constantly improving (even tho most peeps seem to have the 4.5) ~Rob

There have been a vast amount of little things that have been improved over the years, however dont always assume that a 97R is going to be less reliable than a 51 lightweight - the truth is that individual cars vary hugely.
There are some really superb cars out there, then again there are some lemons. You're best off setting yourself a decent budget and deciding on a spec, have a look around reguardless of age/mileage and pick one that best suits you.
There have been many good changes over the years, but there have also been some not so good - for example the seats have generally got worse over the years
AFAIK.
Every car is different, and many have been upgraded to be better than current spec with all sorts of suspension mods/light conversions/red rose engine mods.
Cant help you with the complete list of upgrades though, we have an old(!) Cerbera

Hmm, I wasn't thinking of upgrades. Sadly, I wont be able to buy one anytime soon... I find it hard to believe that with the HUNDREDS of things that are quirky, at least 25% of the probs would have been, sorted over the last 5 years, and the remaining 75% being a result of the cars being put together... but then what do I know. I am but a humble goat hearder. What you say makes sense, tho... from what everyone else seems to say... even though I dont completely understand it
I think what you're asking is too broad a question .. there's literally hundreds of areas of change on TVR cars through their production runs .. no-one has enough spare time to put them all down, well except steve heath, and that's why his books are "bibles" for TVR enthusiasts. Perhaps you could help Steve research a Cerbera book and find the answers to the questions that way?
