Two very different cars. Have you driven both?

Have you considered getting a 4.2 and saving the extra cash for impending bills?

Gareth,

If your worried about the Cerby running costs now, it might spoil the enjoyment. If I were you I would go for the Chimp and work your way up to the Cerby as I did. You won't be disappointed with the Chimp but the Cerby was the icing on the cake for me.
But as noodles says they are totally different animals and ultimately it's your decision.
Of course if money were no object that's a different story.

hi gareth
i have had a chimaera and now have a cerbera like noodles says they are both very different cars.i loved the chimp because the roof came off ,it was quick and great for long distance driving not as demanding as the cerb, plus easy to work on the engine. but for sheer brute force and looks the cerb is my choice (not the wife,s thuogh). for running costs all cars breakdown but if you do your home work you will get a good one .look at the history see aht upgrades have been done on the cerb if you are going for an early one.depending on where you live go to an independent specalist such as jools , pennisular, adrian blythe.they will have cars for sale or they will check over any car you are interested in.i have had a few problems with my cerb but had a fund put aside for mishaps its worth it every time i get in it it puts a silly grin on my face and just love driving it.anyway happy hunting there are plenty to choose from at the moment. enjoy it

Hi Gareth,

You can't really go wrong ito 'grin factor' with any of the Tiv family but the consensus amongst Tivosi does appear to favour the Guardian of the Greek underworld somewhat.

Is a Tuscan not a possibility either?

I must say, talking to Davidd recently (runs a lovely 4.2 btw) has demonstrated just how damn fine value the earlier Cerbs now are; indeed, he reckons privately sold 4.5s will be attainable for under £20k very soon indeed...which is preposterous.

I would think that despite the Chimp's fabulous repertoire, you may feel that a Cerb - particulary a 4.5 - is the natural evolution of the breed and that anything less, might leave you scratching an irritating desire were you not to avail yourself accordingly...

Plus, the Cerb looks, well, perfect!

Whatever you decide, good luck but the manic scream of an AJP V8 past 140 is something you MUST experience.

Cheers,
DeR.
