The front brake disks on my Cerbie are warped, and need replacing. During the recent service, the dealer quoted approx £105 + fitting + VAT, but didn't have any in stock at the time.

I thought I might order the parts and fit them myself. Does anyone know what would be cheapest...to order them from the dealers and pick them up, or order them direct from the factory and get them delivered to my house?

Also, is it a straight forward part to order, or do they vary according to model, year, etc (mine is a '98 4.2).

Many thanks for any pointers.

Mine were warped and was quoted £800 for the pair on my 4.5 (plus labour plus VAT).

I decided to have them skimmed instead for £100.

I tried to buy them direct from AP but they wouldn't let me.

The disc are £105 plus VAT and fitting from either the Factory or a Dealer. £800 must surely include pads and the rear as well?

I was quoted best part of £1000 to replace front disks (only) on my 4.5 Cerbie last year. That was from an independent, not a main dealer.

you can upgrade the 4.5 front discs for about 700 pounds fitted .. no need to go to a dealer again!
