One year on .....

Sunday marks the first anniversary of me picking up my Cerbera. Almost 12,000 miles later and the grin is still as big as ever. 
I still get huge enjoyment just from looking at the car, and a massive buzz driving it. The experience is priceless.
Oh, and my Cerbera has been pretty much faultless for the whole year and has been my only car for most of it.
See, these "my TVR is reliable" threads are incredibly boring aren't they
: just remember this is the reason why we don't see many of them as a balance to the "TVRs are unreliable" or "my engine has gone back to Blackpool" threads.
Here's to another year of Cerbera happiness.

I'm afraid I'm still the same after more than 4 years ownership. Apart from regular servicing, brakes, and tyres, my only other expense has been a leaking radiator, ribbon cable behind steering wheel, and a battery.
Still get one hell of a a buzz from driving the car.

I've had my Chimaera nearly a year - only the Meta alarms gone t1ts up so far . . .
Like Jeza I too love just looking at mine . . but better still have been recent days of roof down driving with the ICE light permanently on and using my selection of woolly hats!
I seem to remember when I picked mine up in mid-February it was a beautiful day and had to do the 120 mile return journey with the roof down . .

3 years & 31000 miles for me on my 97 4.2 Cerbera. No major problems really - only left me stranded a couple of times - once was just a flat battery, can't remember the other time.
Never thought i'd say this, but of all the things I worry about, the Cerbera breaking down isn't one of them. Which is excellent considering it's a hand-built car with a brand new V8 engine built by a small manufacturer.
Perhaps TVR's consistency needs some effort, but when they get it right, boy do they get it right!

3 1/2 years + 32,000 miles with me [just tripped over to 40,000 on the clock the other day].
Total bag of bolts. Falling apart. Never goes. Hate the sight of it.
Nah...just kidding
, but it's what everyone wants to hear. Runs great, only once in 32,000 did it not get me where I wanted to go in sun, rain & snow.

The political answer is 'challenging'.
The truth is, it's the worst thing I've ever driven in snow - not enough weight on the driving wheels, tyres too wide/not enough tread, engine wants to spin up to high RPM even on small throttle openings, clutch too off/on, grounds too easily, too much engine braking [just lift off to lose traction] etc etc etc. If the challenge is to design the worst thing ever to use in snow, the winning entry would resemble a Cerbera. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it though...what's life without a challenge?
Q When is it time to take another car?
A1 Never, in terms of weather.
A2 Pretty much all the time when you work out the real cost per mile.

Just passed my one year anniverary, got a HUGE discount on insurance with Sunninghill, £350 cheaper than the last place plus track day cover included.
In one year had new starter motor (paid under warranty) new fuel control chip (£70), new clutch (paid under warranty) and 2 new front tyres (@ £200).
Still need to get wheel alignment sorted and need front brake discs and pads but as these are consumables can't complain. Oh and wipers don't work properly.
Bothered? Am I hell, I would sell my left kidney to keep the Cerb (and might have to). It's more fun than a nyphomaniac on heat.....allegedly.

I went a few times to Cairngorm on a Kawasaki z900, with skis strapped down the side (tails tied to engine bars and tips tied to rear indicator). Only major problem was with ski-boots tied on the back they were frozen solid by the time you got there. Still, you could skip to the front of the queue waiting for the snow gates to open. Ah, them were the days.
