I currently own a ''98 BMW 323 which has 97,000 miles on the clock and has been VERY reliable. I am considering changing the car to a Cerbera. I have about 20k-25k to spend. Can anyone tell me whether I am making a big mistake by changing from BMW to TVR? Also just how reliable are they really? Should I buy privately or through a dealer? And finally which type is better 4.2 or 4.5? Cheers

Hey Seedy I started the "Novice looking for Advice" based on exactly what you have asked. I myself own a BMW Coupe and am looking to change to a Cerbi - have a look at the whole of the "Novice..." section and you should get your answers. If not then ask away - BTW this is a great forum but the less repetitive questions asked better - I hope the above helps Avi

If you want a real sports car, and a huge grin on your face each time you drive it, I'd say there is only one choice. Otherwise, buy a beemer.

''98 BMW 323 which has 97,000 miles" Don't imagine yoo're going to repeat this in a cerbera are you. I wonder what is the highest mileage so far ? I've found the more you use it the less goes wrong. Edited by DYB on Thursday 16th August 22:26

I've found the more you use it the less goes wrong This is very true. My old Griff got 10k a year use and never let me down. Left in garage for two months and it started playing up. The more use the better it works is my motto.

Thank you to all of you for your feedback. The question of reliability and associated repair costs was too much for me. I thank you for all your help and wish you happy motoring. In the end I opted for a Jaguar XKR. Cheers!
