Would it fit in my garage?
Discussion
I am looking into the possibility of getting an early Cerbera in the new year, but I'm not sure if it will fit in my garage !
Does anyone have the dimensions of a Cerbera so I can check ?
I have previously had an S3 and BMW 328 convertible in the garage and I know a Griff fits as well, but am I right in thinking the Cerbera is quite a bit longer ?
Cheers

It might look a mile long - but that's an optical illusion related to the fact that it's only 6 inches high...
I don't know how long either car is, but I had an E46 3 series saloon and the Cerbie is shorter than that. Both went in my garage but the Cerbie had more room at either end - and in fact now lives in there with a chest freezer in behind it as well.
Dave.
I'm expecting to have to riggle out of the car once it's in the garage, but I can live with that.
So, it sounds like it should fit - just the news I was hoping for !
Now am I being silly looking at the earlier 4.2's ?
I will have about £17.5k to spend and would be comfortable spending £1k a year in maintainance. Is Cerbera ownership possible based upon this kind of budget ?
Thanks for all the help so far.

You may struggle to run a Cerbera on your budjet. I have an early 4.2 and would have difficulties running the car on 1K a year.
I only use my car for fun i.e. weekends etc. So far the car has cost me in 2.5yrs
24K to buy
2K engine
1.5K wheels and tyres
1.5 - 2K servicing (now use a specialist)
1K Light conversion front + respray
.5K light conversion rear fitted
.450 sport pipes and cat modification
+ about another .5K on pedals alloy bits etc.
The question is can I afford it? NO but is it worth it YES!
The visa card can be paid monthly
Granted I did not have to carry out a lot of the above but the bug has well and trully got me.
Hope the above ramble has helped make up your mind.
Good luck whatever you choose.

I was hoping that if I bought an early one that most of the 'usual' problems would have been sorted by now. I would only ever go to a specialist for servicing as I believe you not only get more for your money, but you actually get a better service (from my experience).
I got bitten by the bug when I had my S3 and am prepared (hoping) for it to happen again. Extra optional costs like those you've listed would be on top of the £1k a year.
Can I ask what the £2k engine cost was?
Thanks

The car was running fine but using quite a bit oil.
The cost was for valve seals & piston rings. The main cost is the stripping out of the engine etc not the parts themselfs.
I had the work done at a specialist as "TVR" main dealers told me the engine would have to go back to the factory at a cost of 4-6K.
I am very pleased with the work done and the car in over 2000miles has not used a drop.
Please do not let me put you off every one sould own a Cerbera at some stage in there life, just ensure that you go in with your eyes open.
