Brake Sqqueel

I recently had the rear brake pads changed on My Cerb SP6. They now squeel very loudly but only under very heavy braking. Any idea what this is and could it be causing damage?

Aint no damage being done.

If you've got something like Ferodo DS3000 or Mintex 1144 pads, you're probably stuck with it. It will go after seriously hard use [trakc days], but it'll probably come back with more road use.

If you've got more road-inclined pads, then it should go in a few hundred miles. You can try taking the pads out and putting on some copaslip, but I've never found it makes much difference.

Silkaflex did it for me (on the backs of course). Hasn't burnt off after 1000 miles, first track day with them on tomorrow so will let you know.
