Sorry to bring this up again but I was a little confused following the previous thread.

If I am replacing the standard 18" alloys fitted on a 4.5 cerbera with spider alloys that use the same size tyres why do I need all the modifications mentioned in the previous thread. (ie) wheel arch grinding, bump stops on the steering rack etc?

Can it be as easy as a straight swap from standard 18" alloys to the new spider alloys?

I thought that the standard Cerbera 4.5 wheels were 17", so the tyres will not fit 18" spiders.

And yes, if you're replacing the standard wheels with spiders you will need steering stops fitted and more than likely the rear arches grinding.

but if you have the old style alloys in 18inch and you move to spiders then you STILL need to get the mods done as the tuscan spider allys are adifferent offset to the other style alloys.

Whilst on the subject of the tuscan spider alloys, has anyone got or know of anyone that may have a spare for sale as I have damaged one of mine and am getting a bad vibration whilst on the move, thanking you all in anticipation !!!!!!!!

Get it checked by a decent tyre shop. No wheel is perfectly round, and it could well go away entirely if it's rebalanced.

A silver finished 18" spider alloy is around £140 exc VAT and carriage and should be readily available. The anthracite finished alloys are quite a bit more expensive.. don't ask me why!
