Fuel Tank funnel and water leak...

The fuel(optimax) entry point on my cerbera seems to have risen a 1cm and of course water is flooding into the boot [like a scene out of the titanic movie

I've resealed it but I'm worried that water has got into the tank as the rubber sleave seemed to have a gap. I take it water in the fuel tank is bad news ?
